Origins of Australian Indigenous Knowledge: Trade Routes, Geographic Links or What?
In Aboriginal culture, all birds were once people. Stories about a particular species occur across Australia, are a part of Indigenous cultural knowledge and reflect their ties with the land. This paper investigates the cultural origins and activities of some bird species and whether they reflect geographic distance between language groups, recorded trade routes or other influences.
